2012-04-24linuxthreads.old: refactor nommu logic a little to avoid mmu warningMike Frysinger
Should be no functional changes; just fixing: libpthread/linuxthreads.old/manager.c: In function 'pthread_free': libpthread/linuxthreads.old/manager.c:707:9: warning: variable 'h_bottom_save' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
2012-04-24linuxthreads.old: pass back up saved_errno value in manager initMike Frysinger
This matches the newer linuxthreads code, and fixes the build warning: libpthread/linuxthreads.old/manager.c: In function 'pthread_handle_create': libpthread/linuxthreads.old/manager.c:487:7: warning: variable 'saved_errno' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
2011-03-05Allow ABIs where SP points below the stack frame.Bernd Schmidt
On C6X, the stack pointer points to a word that is not part of the current function's stack frame. It may be overwritten by callees. Take this into account when creating the stack for a cloned thread. Signed-off-by: Bernd Schmidt <bernds@codesourcery.com>
2009-07-21libpthread: add format attribute to __pthread_message()Mike Frysinger

2009-07-05Don't shadow the mask parameter with a local variable in the same functionRon
Signed-off-by: Ron Lee <ron@debian.org> Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
2009-07-05Add noreturn attributes to some functions that won't ever do soRon
usage() is also made static in answer to warnings about no prototype. In __pthread_manager_event() we also have to drop the return statement, else gcc will in turn complain about a non-returning function having one. 2001-04-10 Ulrich Drepper <drepper@redhat.com> * join.c (pthread_exit): Move code to new function __pthread_do_exit which takes an extra parameter with the current frame pointer. Call new function with CURRENT_STACK_FRAME. (__pthread_do_exit): New function. Call __pthread_perform_cleanup with the new parameter. (pthread_join): Call __pthread_do_exit instead of pthread_exit. * cancel.c (__pthread_perform_cleanup): Takes extra parameter. Use this parameter as the initial value the cleanup handler records are compared against. No active cleanup handler record must have an address lower than the previous one and the initial record must be above (below on PA) the frame address passed in. (pthread_setcancelstate): Call __pthread_do_exit instead of pthread_exit. (pthread_setcanceltype): Likewise. (pthread_testcancel): Likewise. (_pthread_cleanup_pop_restore): Likewise. * condvar.c (pthread_cond_wait): Likewise. (pthread_cond_timedwait_relative): Likewise. * manager.c (pthread_start_thread): Likewise. * oldsemaphore.c (__old_sem_wait): Likewise. * pthread.c (pthread_handle_sigcancel): Likewise. * semaphore.c (__new_sem_wait): Likewise. (sem_timedwait): Likewise. * ptlongjmp.c (pthread_cleanup_upto): Also use current stack frame to limit the cleanup handlers which get run. * internals.h: Add prototype for __pthread_do_exit. Adjust prototype for __pthread_perform_cleanup.

I think the loop was written for MMU case. When there is MMU, mmap () is used to allocate the stack. If one segment is already mapped, we should continue to see if we can use the next one. However, for NOMMU, malloc () is used. It's waste of CPU cycles to continue to try if it fails. Here is a new patch, which makes this change only for NOMMU.
